Grand Opening Celebration
Eastern Plains Community Pantry
701 4th St.
Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
We will be hosting a pancake breakfast from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
This pantry represents the best that rural Colorado has to offer. The original pantry for this area was supported by an agency headquartered in Colorado Springs. A decision was made last July to end their support for our bank. The community put aside its differences and a group of neighbors, churches, civic groups and businesses came together to set up a community-based pantry. We were able to move in to our new facility on February 20th. We are already serving people in the community. All of our labor is donated by volunteers from the community. Our pantry staff coordinator is a volunteer.
We would love to have you join us to celebrate our fledgling Eastern Plains Community Pantry and the wonderful and amazing citizens of northeastern El Paso County who have pooled their talents and energy to make our community home for everyone.
We are taking donations of food, clothing, money, and above all volunteer labor. If you want to make a tax-deductible donation, we ask that you make your donation to one of the local churches with a notation that the gift is earmarked for the pantry.
